Was Obama only saying, “You girls can get a dog and bring him to the White House” because of the press or he was just too excited? One might wonder, parents always make promises when they are excited, maybe his daughter asked right before the president elect was announced.

Either way, he was asked point blank today at his first press conference. His response was it would have to be hypo-allergenic and he’d like it to come from a shelter. He admitted the only thing wrong with that is shelter dogs are all muts like him.

Guessing this means a puppy won’t be chewing on his shoes any time soon.

Here is a list of hypo-allergenic dogs just in case he decides:

terriers

greyhounds and there are a ton that need new homes.

maltese

pulli

poodles

shi itzu

Now you must keep in mind she can still be allergic to any of these dogs, but these are dogs with less coats so should be easier on her. As for Obama, maybe he and Michelle talked and realized they might not be ready to raise a puppy and be president.
