Ohio Rep Stephanie Tubbs Jones Died

The Ohio State Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones died yesterday while driving her car, apparently she had an aneurysm on Tuesday but died on Wednesday. This is such a sad day in Ohio for many. For those that don’t know there are times a person does NOT know that they even have something wrong, it just happens and later everyone else finds out. This could’ve been something she knew nothing about.
Stephanie made history in Ohio, she was the first black woman represent Ohio. She was a nice woman that believed in helping the little guy (business) and had tons of plans for the next coming months.

Tubbs Jones was one of the most ardent supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton’s 2008 run for the White House. After Clinton bowed out of the race in June, she endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, now the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Tubbs Jones, a superdelegate, had been scheduled to attend the Democratic National Convention next week in Denver, Colorado.
“She was not only a professional, but she could reach into your soul and shake it,” said Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pennsylvania, who said he met Tubbs Jones at a Clinton rally. “Hillary Clinton was lucky to have a supporter like her.”
Clinton, in a statement with her husband, former President Clinton, and their daughter, Chelsea, said Tubbs Jones’ friendship “meant the world to us.” iReport.com: Share your memories of Tubbs Jones

Yes! Ellen & Portia Did Get Married!

For those of you that were ever in doubt shame on you, Ellen stated she’d marry her long time love and she did. Both brides were outfits created by Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane. They both looked great and Ellen states she had some very teary moments. All the food, including the cake was vegan. Sounds like a very personal time, which is what every wedding should be. Congratulations to the happy couple.
“What can I say? I’m the luckiest girl in the world,” says DeGeneres. “She’s officially off the market. No one else gets her. And now she’ll cook and clean for me.”

What Caused the Jen/John Split?

Many are wondering exactly what caused the split between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer, but one thing is certain…Jen’s not telling. Course that doesn’t mean no one else is keeping silent. A friend of Jen’s admitted that John had been fooling around and Jen had it. This could ring true, we’ve all seen the pics and heard the stories. But is this the reason?
John has went to the public with his reasons:
According to TMZ:
“People are different, people have different chemistry. I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don’t want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right. It’s not about years, it’s about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out.”
On his breakup being completely normal: “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. I’m sorry that the story’s not interesting. But it’s about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she’s great.”
On setting the record clear about Jen: “If you guys are going to run stuff and run every lie under the sun, have somebody stand up for somebody. Have me as a man who ended a relationship stand here and write some truth. Have me stand up for somebody and write that Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.”
On why relationships generally end: “You’re either a cheater or you breakup. And I’m not the first. I’m the second one. And that’s it. There’s no lying, there’s no bulls—, I just don’t want to be followed around New York City like an animal.”
On singing the praises of Aniston: “She’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life and I’m going through something that’s a very personal thing and you have to give that up. You have to give everything up because you can’t have it all and it sucks.”

Roseanne Blogs her Feelings about Angelina Jolie

It seems that Roseanne doesn’t like Angelina Jolie much, for that matter she doesn’t like Brad Pitt either. She decided to let the whole world know how she felt too, she blogged it.
Jon Voight is a frightened little girl in a pink ballet tutu… your evil spawn Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pittmake about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more. (Just sayin’).“Also Miss Jolie says she likes McCain too and hasn’t decided who to endorse….huh? Aren’t you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the republican party’s worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan? Whaaaa…??????!!!! (For that matter, the thai and vietnamese sons you are photo’d with weekly too!!!? Who’s [sic] pictures you sell to raise money to help the poor? … We want to save not lose our souls thank you. Now go back to making your movies about women who love to handle big guns that shoot hundreds of people to death. Ps….it might be good for your Asian and African children’s self-esteem to know you support a brown man for the leader of the free world.)
Oops well the cat’s out of the bag now, I wonder how Angie feels towards all this.

Michael Phelps’ Wins 8 Gold

America and the rest of the world has all been quietly sitting back and watching the Olympics as they air, course whenever someone makes it to the finish line you can be sure someone is screaming in joy. But America has been cheering loudly with the announcement that Michael Phelps getting his 8th gold. For those that aren’t aware Michael has just broke the record for winning the most gold medals in the single Olympics. This is a huge victory for himself alone, but also for America. This is no man, he’s a human merman. Michael’s competitions have all been focused in the water. Talk about a fantastic swimmer. Way to go Mike!
The last person to make history like this was Mark Spitz, back in 1972 when he won 7 gold medals. Do you have any favorites this year? Have you watched the Olympics?

Nicole Richie’s Charity Deed

Ya’ll might remember back last year when it was announced that Nicole Richie was pregnant with boyfriend, Joel Madden’s baby. Well she launched a program that would help families of low income or no income that were expecting a child. I think this is a wonderful idea, the program is called, “Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation” which is like a big baby registry that those that have can donate to and those that don’t can receive.
Richie learned how poor some really are and how many babies go without even a clean blanket, this broke her heart and she knew she had to do something. This program is open for NY and Los Angeles moms and she hopes to make it grow soon.

While Hayden was busy chatting it up with Japan it seems her mother was possibly hit by her father, he was even placed in jail. Course now the parents (happy couple that they are) are insisting it was all just blown out of proportion. Exactly how is that? Someone calls the police, police get there and either see a bruised face or hear about him hitting her so they arrest him. Umm, domestic violence people. The report says Allen (dad) hit her (mom) three times. How is this being blown out of the water? What’s your take on it?

What’s Going on in Lucky Magazine?

Haven’t picked up you “Lucky” Magazine yet? You might want to do it soon since there is the biggest contest going on in this very issue. Not to mention all the great style tips that are in it. One of the style or fashion tips start off by Katie Holmes, just follow her lead if you want to be on top of this trend. Katie has been known to wear some outrageous outfits, but they normally end up rather trendy. For instance the V vest has been seen on her with those long skirts or even slacks, they are now a very popular trend. A blouse that has a huge tie bow on top is another hip thing, but don’t forget you don’t have to dress totally up, you can wear one of these with a pair of dark denim jeans. You’ll still look smokin’ hot.
If you ever have any doubts, follow what the celebrities are doing. Or just wear what someone would’ve worn in the late 60-70s. Currently Katie is trying to bring back the 80’s pant cuffs. You know the ones that are folded up at the bottom. Ikkk. You can pick up your copy of this magazine at stores near you.

Katie Holmes: Fashion Designer?

Did you see the FABULOUS dress Katie Holmes wore earlier this week to Tom Cruise’s premiere of “Tropic Thunder”? It was navy blue velvet with a black leather halter top. It looked gorgeous, especially on her and with those heels it really stood out. She did have a little help with Jeanne Yang, hopefully we’ll see this number hitting shelves within the next year.

Crash & Burn for Aniston

Jennifer Aniston just seems to be lucky in the love department, once again when rumors started that she was looking to get a little serious her man runs out the door. What is it with these men? Brad just wanted kids, Jen wasn’t ready or didn’t think he was. Next was Vince and he took off and now I hear her newest love John has ditched her. OUCH! I had really hoped we’d hear wedding bells and a possibly pregnancy coming up.
